IMPORTANT RECYCLING REMINDERS:
- Plastic bags are not allowed in the recycling barrel.Plastic Bag Red Line sm2
- Always use the official Village of Ridgewood barrel for collection of bottles & cans.


The Village of Ridgewood provides residential curbside collection of many recyclable materials. We also operate a full-service recycling center.

Items collected curbside include:VOR Barrel rotated

  • Glass bottles & jars: all colors *
  • Plastic bottles, jars, jugs, & dairy tubs only (NO:  Plastic fruit/vegetable/bakery/deli containers/food trays/cups/utensils are not accepted) *
  • Aluminum & steel cans
  • Food & Beverage Cartons: Shelf-Stable (flat top) and Refrigerated (gable top)
  • Newsprint
  • Magazines, catalogues, office paper, and direct mail
  • Corrugated cardboard and paper bags
  • Appliances & metals
  • Tires
  • Automobile Batteries

Items accepted at the recycling center include:

  • Glass bottles & jars: all colors *
  • Plastic bottles, jars, jugs, & dairy tubs only (NO:  Plastic fruit/vegetable/bakery/deli containers/food trays/cups/utensils are not accepted)*
  • Aluminum & steel cans
  • Food & Beverage Cartons: Shelf-Stable (flat top) and Refrigerated (gable top)
  • Newsprint
  • Magazines, catalogues, office paper, and direct mail
  • Corrugated cardboard and paper bags
  • Appliances & metals
  • Tires
  • Automobile Batteries
  • Clothing & Textiles including shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, drapes, pillowcases and stuffed animals. (No rags, no fabric scraps, no pillows, no toys and no household goods. These items are a hardship and expense to dispose of.)
  • Inkjet and Laser Printer Cartridges
  • Electronics (TVs, VCRs, DVD players, monitors, computers, printers, desktop copy machines, hard drives, video game consoles, radios, stereos, cellular phones, electronic tablets, e-book readers, etc.)
