SCIENCE TELLERS - Tall Ships Wild West Adventure (geared for elementary students Grades K-5)
Journey with us to the wild west where a legendary train-robbing outlaw is back in town, about to strike again.  Throughout the journey we will explore the fascinating science behind chemical reactions, combustion, inertia and more!

AIRPLANES WITH HOBBY QUEST -  This STEM program will have participants build the "Electric Falcon" free flight, lightweight electric plane and the masked hero's super cool helicopter "The Batman".  How far will your go?  How high will it climb?  Why does it fly?  Build it! Fly it! Keep it! 
Grades 1-5, Friday, February 15th, 9 am to 1:00 pm, at the Stable, 259 N. Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, $55 includes all materials (non-residents $65).  Participants should bring a NUT-free lunch and beverage.
AIRPLANES with Hobby Quest - details and registration form

YOGA AND ART WITH COLORFUL WARRIORS - This program is all about encouraging healthy bodies and creative minds!  The morning will include warming bodies through movement and yoga and canvas painting a winter scene.
Ages 5-9, Tuesday, February 19, 10 am to 12 noon, at the Stable, 259 N. Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, $48 includes all materials (non-residents $58).
Please bring a yoga mat.

PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW TRIP - MARCH 5, 2019

Join Ridgewood Parks and Recreation as we travel to the Pennsylvania Convention Center to enjoy the 2019 Philadelphia Flower Show entitled "Flower Power".  The show will pay tribute to the enormous impact of flowers on our lives.  From the first blooms of spring in your home garden, to the expansive fields that fuel whole economies, flowers influence how we feel, think and act in small and global ways. Come enjoy this beautiful event. 

Tuesday, March 5th
$65 per person (includes admission to the show and coach bus transportation).  Lunch is on your own.
The bus will depart Graydon Pool parking lot at 8 am and return approximately 5:30 pm.

THE GARDEN GATE RESOURCE ROOM AT IRENE HABERNICKEL FAMILY PARK

Come, relax and browse through the many garden books in the Women Gardeners of Ridgewood Resource Room at the Habernickel Family Park Gate House (2nd floor), 1057 Hillcrest Road, Ridgewood.

Ridgewood Parks and Recreation welcomes HealthBarn USA to Habernickel Family Park, 1057 Hillcrest Road, Ridgewood.  Children and grown-ups enjoy healthy-lifestyle educational programs which include growing, harvesting and cooking with fresh, natural foods from an organic teaching garden.  Registration has begun for the next session of programs being offered through the Village Recreation Department by HealthBarnUSA.  Click on the links below for program details and registration.

ATTENTION SENIORS - JOIN H.I.L.T. FOR 2018

Come see what you have been missing!

H.I.L.T. (Highlights in Leisure Time) is a senior's club sponsored by Ridgewood Parks and Recreation, for Village residents 55 and older. Monthly meetings offer entertainment or informational presentations. Special events include picnics, socials and a variety of trips to dinner theaters, museums, historical sights and sightseeing tours. Annual dues are $15.

VILLAGE "ADOPT A TREE" PROGRAM

 In order to maintain the tree canopy of the Village, the Shade Tree Commission offers a new "Adopt a Tree" program in addition to limited replacements offered annually in the Parks and Shade Tree budget.  Please find details in the link below.

THE NJ MAYOR'S WELLNESS CAMPAIGN

You may notice a new look to our brochures. There is a pinwheel logo that marks some of our programs. What does this mean?

The Mayor's Wellness Campaign is a statewide initiative to invite Mayors to play a leadership role in supporting opportunities to promote active, healthy lifestyles with long-term goals to include a reduction in health care costs for all. The Village community will strongly support this initiative and everywhere you see the logo, you will know the benefits of each marked program are many. Come be a part of it all.
