Let's Recycle Right . . . It Takes a Village.

Please join us on Earth Day as we highlight ways to recycle better and increase the community commitment to a sustainable future through waste reduction, reuse, and improving the quality of our recyclables.

Sponsored in part by Ridgewood Recycling, Ridgewood Environmental Adisory Committee (REAC), the Conservancy for Ridgewood Public Lands (CRPL) and Ridgewood Parks and Recreation.   There will be educational displays, a petting zoo, crafts, live music by "Blue Plate Special" and the fun "Daffy Dog Parade".  Please join us, rain or shine - no admission fee.

RIDGEWOOD SUMMER DAY CAMP

Ridgewood Summer Day Camp will again offer a diversified program of swimming, arts and crafts, games, outdoor sports, special events, and trips for Village children entering grades 1 through 6. 

The six week program will be conducted weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., beginning Tuesday, June 26th, and ending on Friday, August 3, 2018.  Activities will be held on the grounds of the Stable, The Community Center, Maple Park, Veteran's Field, Graydon Pool and Leuning Park.  Children are to bring their lunch and beverages.  The cost is $550 per child which includes optional bus transportation from local elementary schools.  All campers must also possess a 2018 Graydon Pool badge.

Ridgewood Parks and Recreation welcomes HealthBarn USA to Habernickel Family Park, 1057 Hillcrest Road, Ridgewood.  Children and grown-ups enjoy healthy-lifestyle educational programs which include growing, harvesting and cooking with fresh, natural foods from an organic teaching garden.  Registration has begun for the next session of programs being offered through the Village Recreation Department by HealthBarnUSA.  Click on the links below for program details and registration.

VISIT THE WOMEN GARDENERS OF RIDGEWOOD RESOURCE ROOM AT HABERNICKEL FAMILY PARK

Come, relax and browse through the many garden books in the Women Gardeners of Ridgewood Resource Room at the Habernickel Family Park Gate House (2nd floor), 1057 Hillcrest Road, Ridgewood.

VILLAGE "ADOPT A TREE" PROGRAM

In order to maintain the tree canopy of the Village, the Shade Tree Commission offers a new "Adopt a Tree" program in addition to limited replacements offered annually in the Parks and Shade Tree budget.  Please find details in the link below.

SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Applications are being sought for the many summer positions available with the Parks and Recreation Department including Day Camp Administrators and Counselors, Graydon Pool Lifeguards, Security Attendants, and Badge Sale Attendants. Concession Attendant applications will be shared with the Water's Edge vendor. 

NOTE: Day Camp staff attendance is mandatory for the full six week program, June 25 to August 3, 2018 as well as pre-camp trainings. 

Applicants should be at least 16 years of age.  All will be considered for experience, interests, and accomplishments.  

All hires require an approved Ridgewood Police Department criminal background check.

THE NJ MAYOR'S WELLNESS CAMPAIGN

You may notice a new look to our brochures. There is a pinwheel logo that marks some of our programs. What does this mean?

The Mayor's Wellness Campaign is a statewide initiative to invite Mayors to play a leadership role in supporting opportunities to promote active, healthy lifestyles with long-term goals to include a reduction in health care costs for all. The Village community will strongly support this initiative and everywhere you see the logo, you will know the benefits of each marked program are many. Come be a part of it all.
