The Village Council has awarded the paving contract to J.A. Alexander., to resurface your

street. The follow is the anticipated schedule.

During milling and paving, access to your driveway will be restricted for the entire day while work is being done in front of your home. It will be best to park on a side street for the entire day. Work will start daily at 7:00 a.m. Schedule is pending weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

New Parking Meter Times, Rates and Hours and Placement of Parking Kiosks in Central Business District

Effective September 4, 2018, the following changes will be in effect for all parking meters in the Central Business District, both on the streets and in the parking lots:

 

Meter Times:  Monday through Friday - 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

                        Saturday – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Meter Rates for All Meters:  75 cents per hour (including the Cottage Place CBD Employee                                                          Parking Spaces)

Duration of Meters:  3 hours for all parking meters, except the Cottage Place parking lot, which will be 11 hours.

CBD Employee Parking Spaces:  These spaces require a CBD Employee Parking Permit and are located in the Walnut Street parking lot and the Cottage Place parking lot, and are delineated by signage.  CBD Employee Parking Permits and monthly hang tags for CBD Employee parking may be purchased at the Reception Desk in Village Hall or daily parking may be paid for through Parkmobile or in Cottage Place, at the parking kiosks.

We are extending our Parking Kiosk Pilot Program. In addition to the Chestnut Street parking lot, parking kiosks will be placed in the following locations:

  • Cottage Place parking lot
  • Cottage Place Annex parking lot (between The Gap and Gilsenan & Co. Real Estate)
  • Both sides of North Broad Street, between Franklin Avenue and East Ridgewood Avenue

The parking kiosks will accept coins, dollar bills, and credit cards (Visa, Master Card and American Express).  Parkmobile is also available to pay for parking, by downloading the Parkmobile app to your Smartphone.

Effective September 25, 2018, the new meter times for the train station parking lot and the Park and Ride parking lot will be:

Monday through Friday – 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (14-hour meter duration)

Saturday – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (8-hour meter duration)

Overnight parking is available in select parking lots for residents living in the CBD. Permits for overnight parking may be purchased at the Reception Desk in Village Hall.  Other than the overnight parking lots, parking is prohibited in all other parking lots, including the train station lot and the Park and Ride lot, from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

In accordance with the provisions of the "Open Public Meetings Act," please be advised that the Ridgewood Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold a special public meeting on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. in the Village Hall Court Room, 131 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ.

            All meetings of the Ridgewood Zoning Board of Adjustment (i.e., official public meetings, work session meetings, pre-meeting assemblies and special meetings) are public meetings which are always open to members of the general public.

Proposed Parking Lot Reconfiguration - Train Station Expansion

Proposed parking lot reconfiguration details are: (Click Here for Drawing)

  • One bench, center of island, to be provided by others.
  • 11 decorative streetlights, matching pattern used in the Village
  • An increase of 38 parking spaces
  • 15 trees are to be removed.  All were examined by the Village Arborist for health, most were in poor health.
  • 14 trees are to be planted, 11 of which will be red oaks
  • 44 of the reconfigured spaces will be for compact cars, with a stall size of 9-wide by 16-feet deep.
  • One way counter-clockwise circulation in the parking lot.
  • 22-foot wide circulation lane.
  • Center island is to be 14-feet wide.(It is currently approx. 33 feet wide, at the widest section) 
  • Sidewalk in the center island to be 5-feet in width.
  • Standard 9-foot by 18-foot parking stalls surrounding the center island
  • Center island sidewalk to be tinted a dark color (as per SHPO).
  • Existing lot has 107 parking spaces.  Reconfigured lot will have 145 parking spaces.
