2010 3rd quarter property taxes are due August 1, 2010. There is a 10 (ten) day grace period. Payments must be recieved in the office no later than August 10th. Postmark is not accepted. Please mail your payments to the Village of Ridgewood, Tax Collector at 131 N. Maple Ave., Ridgewood, NJ 07450-3287 or they can be dropped off in the Village mail box at our main entrace. |

3RD QUARTER PROPERTY TAX BILLS MAILED 6-15-10
The Ridgewood Village Council has adopted a resolution authorizing the Tax Collector to mail ESTIMATED 2010 3rd quarter tax bills. The estimated tax rate is $1.888 per hundred dollars of assessed value. This bill is payable on August 1, 2010, and allows for the usual 10 day grace period. Payments received after August 10th will be charged interest back to the due date. Postmark is not accepted.
When the 2010 tax rate for the Village has been certified by the Bergen County Tax Baord the Tax Collector will send another bill reflecting the final tax payment due on November 1, 2010 and preliminary payments due February 1 and May 1, 2011 This final bill will reflect the total taxes billed for the calendar year 2010.
Taxpayers are encouraged to contact the Tax Collectors Office at 201-670-5500 ext 511 with any questions or concerns. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

ACH Bank Draft Program to pay Property Taxes
The Village of Ridgewood, Tax Collector’s Office offers an ACH bank draft program (direct withdrawal) to our taxpayers. This service assures your payment will be received in a timely manner as well as providing a safe and secure way to pay your taxes with out the worry of mail delivery or coming in to pay in person.
Quarterly property tax payments as billed will be debited from your CHECKING account on the payment due dates of February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1. We do not draft from savings or equity accounts. You may enroll or cancel at any time, provided a completed authorization form is received at least two weeks prior to the scheduled draft dates.
If you would like to enroll in this program, please complete the entire authorization form. Be sure to attach a voided check. Incomplete applications will delay enrollment.

NEW HOME OWNERS:
If you did not receive the current tax bill at your closing, contact our office to request a duplicate. Taxes are due 2/1, 5/1, 8/1 & 11/1. There is a ten day grace period. As Per NJSA 54:4-64: "The validity of any tax or assessment, or the time at which is shall be payable, shall not be affected by the failure of a taxpayer to receive a tax bill, but every taxpayer is put on notice to ascertain from the proper official of the taxing district the amount which may be due for taxes or assessments againt him or his property." |

Do we have your correct mailing address?
Many tax bills as well as other important notices from the Tax Collector are returned by the Post Office as undeliverable. Property owners often neglect advising our office that their mailing address has changed. Please help us to keep our records up to date. Requests to change your mailing address must be submitted in writing. |

Changing from Escrow to Non Escrow?
Tax payers who are no longer escrowing their property taxes through their mortgage company should use their advice copy of their most recent tax bill for payments. If you cannot locate your bill please contact our office for the amount due. |
