| Walk MS 2009 will be one of New Jersey’s largest, most widespread days of walking! The event will be taking place in 15 different walk sites throughout NJ. The local walk site for all those in Bergen County looking to get involved is the Ridgewood walk site, at Graydon Pool. Walk MS 2009 kicks off Sunday, April 19, 2009. All of the 15 walk sites include: Belmar, Cranford, Edison, Flemington, Freehold, Hamilton, Hewitt, Jersey City, Ridgewood, Roseland, Roxbury, Sandy Hook, Seaside Park, North Brunswick and Somerville.

| The Village’s Earth Day celebration is slated for Sunday, April 19th between the hours of 12 noon and 3 pm. The theme for this special event; “The world is in your hands – go green. Let’s make sustainable life choices!”
Planning is on-going through the efforts of REAC (Ridgewood Environmental Advisory Committee). Programs scheduled for the day include:

Also during this event, sponsors, vendors and other supporters of this green initiative will host a Green Market where today’s green products, services and educational aspects will be shared in an outdoor setting. Residents are welcome to spend time perusing each exhibit and gain valuable insight. Vendors/sponsors include Back 2 Tap, Borst Landscapers, Bergen County Utilities Authority, Clean Energy Program, Department of Parks and Recreation, Dept of Public Works, Earthwater Global, GeesePeace, Glen Rock Environmental Commission, Green Living Solutions, Green Up Glen Rock, Hackensack Riverkeeper, Junior Women’s Club, League of Women Voters, Lower Passaic Watershed Alliance, NJ Audubon Society-Lorrimer Sanctuary, Open Space Committee,

Folk rock musical entertainment will once again be provided by Peter Spink. A favorite musician within the community, his contemporary folk music delights all ages.
Wholesome refreshments will again be provided by the Whole Foods Market of Ridgewood, who is additionally sponsoring two programs entitled “Recycling Initiative – What are #5s?” and “Composting Your Kitchen Waste”.
