In an earlier meeting, members of REAC, the Ridgewood Environmental Action Association, asked the CBDAC to support efforts to eliminate single use plastic bags from the Village. Mayor Hache indicated that, upon further discussion, it was determined that there is one primary user of such bags, Stop & Shop. Therefore this initiative might be better managed through discussion rather than an ordinance.
Gary Kolesaire recommended another enhancement to the parking app, which has been revised to include a 9-hour day to accommodate Village employees who work 8 hours, by offering that time in 15 minute increments rather than a full hour.
Members expressed concerns that it is difficult for the parking app to accommodate “5 – minute runs” that residents may require. It was requested that the surcharge be based on a percent of total parking time rather than a flat rate.
